Women and Hair Loss

Hello Everyone!

According to statistics, over 30 million women in the United States suffer from hair loss.  This is the fastest growing segment of the hair industry.  Some women suffer from total hair loss, including loss of eyelashes and eyebrows.  It can be quite an emotional experience for anyone who is suffering from this issue.

Over the years, I have serviced men, women, and children who have lost their hair.  Most women are insecure about it and hide it from family and friends.  It's easy to hide it today, because so many women are wearing wigs, weaves, and extensions for convenience and fun.  Therefore, a woman with hair loss issues can blend into society without looking different or standing out.  Today, women select their hair like they choose their shoes!

Men tend to wear caps or opt to shave the hair around the bald area.  But, they too suffer in silence.  Actually, some men are more sensitive than women, in regards to hair loss.  They are concerned about the shape of their head, how it's going to affect their social life and dating, and if going bald will make them look older.

The affect it has on children is very sad.  I have had several clients who were teenagers and I can't explain the look in their eyes.  Can you imagine losing your hair during your senior year of high school? One of my clients did and we offered the proper solution to give her a natural look.

When you are searching for a Hair Loss Specialist, be sure to seek professionalism and experience.  Pay attention to the hair loss center for cleanliness and proof of education.  Be sure the professional is offering more solutions than a wig or a weave.  And, explain everything to the specialist pertaining to your scalp. For example, if you have an itchy scalp, say it.  If you have a tingling sensation or burning of the scalp, tell the specialist.

Also, be clear on the pricing of the service. If you have insurance, bring all of the information with you to the appointment. If you like, you can take pictures of a desired hair style with you.  Be sure to ask a lot of questions to make sure you understand the process.

Create a Better Day!
